I have now watched the videos about the British author Nick Hornby and the American author Sherman Alexie. I found both authors quite interesting!
I watched the interview of Sherman Alexie first, the author of The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, amongst other works. In the interview Sherman talked about how it was to grow up in a native american family. He also told us that he left his tribe and his “native life” at the age of 14 to get educated. He tells us about the criticism and hate he got for leaving his family behind, but also how much he loved school. Overall he seemed like a very interesting person.
The other Interview was of British Nick Hornby. The focus of this interview was more centered towards one of his earlier novels, “Juliet, Naked”. Nick Hornby then continues by talking about
music and his relationship to that art form.
Although the interview of Sherman Alexie was interesting it did not sway my choice of book; I will still by reading “About a Boy” by Nick Hornby.
